I love this sedge. It made it through an incredibly miserable winter here in N. Wisconsin (zone 3b/4a) last year without any special protection. It does not seem to mind damp feet. I have it growing in balanced sun/shade next to palace purple heuchera and their contrast in color and texture really set each other off. It is a beautiful bright green.
